Velferden is an art space located in the old mining town of Sandbekk in Sokndal, in the south western part of Norway. The space, a 50´s ballroom in a closed down mining area, was established in 2008 by artist Maiken Stene, and houses events that focuses on subjects connected to the local mining history, geology, tourism and contemporary art.
